Many weaving mills have now shifted their production from traditional textiles to technical textiles such as carbon fiber and aramid. It has been shown that the machine knives located at the end of the loom – responsible for trimming the excess (weft) threads at the edge of the woven material – are subject to heavy wear. As a result, the service life of the knives is reduced – and in the worst case, the threads can no longer be cut at all.

The solution to this problem is provided by ROBUSO: we regrind the knives so that they are as good as new, helping to reduce the often considerable costs of purchasing replacement or wear parts. In doing so, we can grind to the original bevel angle specified by the machine manufacturer – or to any other desired angle that optimizes the cutting process.

We also recommend equipping the machine knives with a micro-serration, ensuring that new high-tech threads can be cut smoothly in the future.
